Sorry for being MIA, I will be better!

Totally been MIA for a while now.
There has been so much going on in the past few weeks. The hustle of day to day life has kept me extremely busy and occupied I have barely had time to breath.

Jonathan’s business is FINALLY 100% his, which is amazing! Along with getting the business came office work. We had to get our home office together very quickly so I could get trained on how to use Quickbooks and get going on my new job… Office manager! I am still working my fulltime position selling insurance during the day, then in the evenings coming home to work in our home office getting everything done for M&M. Right now it isn’t busy enough for me to get full time hours, which I need a full time pay check for all of my bills. But I/we have a goal that when my boss at my day job retires in 2 more years, that I will hopefully at that time be able to leave the insurance industry to work full time at home for my husband. Talk about all my dreams coming true! Being able to work from home would be such a wonderful opportunity and it seems like that is the path I am heading at this moment. I just need to be patient and hope that business continues to grow for Jonathan so that I will be able to do so.
Other than that, free time has been spent with friends, at birthday parties, at the drag strip, on the boat, family reunion, bible study and our most recent adventure was going to our first NFL game! We are both HUGE Dallas Cowboy fans and we were able to go to Fed Ex Field in Landover, MD to watch them win against the Washington Redskins. Woohoo!!
We are living day to day life and trying to keep up with everything. It can be very overwhelming at times. But I am trying really hard to juggle everything and keep my sanity. Jonathan would argue that I lost that a long time ago. Haha!
So now that I have been working 2 jobs for almost 4 weeks now, I finally feel like I’m getting my routine down. I am going to try to start posting regularly again but no promises here. Life is crazy and busy and unpredictable, so we will see how it goes.
Other than that, here is a photo dump from the past few weeks.

September means the start of my pumpkin everything craze!

And lastly, an update on why life has been so hectic the past few days.

My husband started his own business about a year and a half ago with some financial help from a “business partner”. They had a 10 year plan that the “partner” decided that he no longer wants any part of. So now the business is 100% Jonathan’s, with the exception of his friend Dirk who works with him. Anyways Jonathan has to get everything in his name, a CPA, and all the stuff that comes with running your own business. And… he needs a new office manager to handle the paperwork end of everything, aka ME! I am so excited about this next step in our lives. I have always wanted to be a work/stay at home mom, which obviously I am not currently and mom nor am I pregnant… but one day we want to start a family. So this is kind of like the beginning of making that dream a reality. There isn’t enough work now for me to leave my full time position, so for now I will keep my full time day job and handle all of the office work for Jonathan’s company in the evenings. Maybe in a couple years business will have picked up enough to where I am able to work full time at home. Fingers crossed, and thanking God for all of the blessings that we have and continue to receive in our lives.

Anyways… here is my new HOME OFFICE!! Including Office side and personal side. Let me put my organization skills to the test and be the best office manager I can be. Right now I am overwhelmed with learning everything. But it is like any new job, it takes time to get comfortable and figure it all out. I’ll get there eventually.

But that is all for my Photo Dump update for the hectic past few days we have had.

What I've been up to: 8/12/16 - 8/21/16

PAST PRESENT FUTURE!
*this is going to be a really boring post with a lot of information that probably won't interest you in the slightest. Being a newer blogger, I am sure sometime's I am going to have these really boring posts that include information that is basically useless to you - sorry.*

PAST

This weekend was nice. We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse Friday night with a gift card that we received as a wedding gift from some friends of ours. I tried something different off their menu, the Grilled Shrimp entrĂ©e, and it was delicious.

Saturday I spent majority of the day just taking it easy in preparation for Girls Night on the Patio. My friend Kristyn was having some girls over just to hang out and have some girl fun. I have to say that I had a very good time with all of the girls, but I was glad my best friend Candace was also invited, we rode together. I didn’t really know the other girls there, but I am always open to meeting new people and making new friends. It was also a big first for me… I was the oldest person there. That is such a big change, as I am usually one of the youngest people everywhere I go.

Sunday was mostly spent recovering from the night before. Jonathan did go out and buy new brakes and rotors for my car. The brakes were almost completely gone, so it was perfect timing to get that done. And yes, I sat out in the garage and helped.

He likes it when I spend time in the garage with him. Like last Thursday, I helped him work on his electric shifter he was putting in the drag truck, and I even loaded the truck up in the trailer. The truck has so much power though, I am very intimidated driving it. It sounds like it’s just going to take off and go flying. Which is why I am much better suited to sit on the sidelines and watch him race.

PRESENT

So last week’s schedule WAS looking really busy, but two of the appointments that we had were rescheduled to this week. Monday evening after work, began with us meeting with our financial advisor at 6pmToday, there was a compliance audit at work that I we had to get prepared for which is always very stressful. Then we had our first ever Bible Study today at 6pm. I was supposed to bake another chocolate pie LAST NIGHT to bring since we had rescheduled from last week, but decided to take the easy route and go buy one. Of course I told the truth that I did not make the pie; after tasting it I am tempted to say that mine was better Anyways, its always nerve racking going to hang out with new people, but I have been doing more of it lately and its starting to not be as scary.

We met with our Officiant from our wedding, his wife and two children. And there was one other couple that had recently moved here from Ohio. Well I think Jonathan and I both enjoyed meeting with them and the encouragement we got from doing so. We did feel like the newbies, but that's because we kind of are. They were so welcoming and kind; our discussion really made you think, and that also felt good. We will definitely meet with them again.

Now home, writing this while Pretty Little Liars is being recorded in the livingroom. Of course home to watch PLL afterwards! I absolutely LOVE Pretty Little Liars, and have no shame for how obsessed I am with that show. Aria and Ezra FINALLY getting engaged made all of my dreams come true!!

FUTURE

Friday morning is Oscar’s follow up vet appointment at 9 am, so I will just go into work a little late. He seems to be doing so much better now, but definitely want the followup just to be sure.

Saturday we will be having a combined dinner with me and my Granny. And Sunday will be my birthday!!

I am sure my next blog post will be more exciting than this. This was probably pretty boring to read. Whoops!

Birthday Wishlist 2016

Since I will be turning 26 on the 21st of this month, I figured I would post a wishlist of a few things I would love to have for my birthday. Some of the items, I would never expect to get as a birthday gift due to the price, but a girl can dream right? Anyways these are some of the top items on my birthday wishlist for my approaching birthday.

1.Jeans – I need new jeans! I have maybe 3 pairs of jeans that still fit me, and only 1 pair that fits me good. The other 2 squeeze me in all the wrong places and don’t want to stay up on my butt! I guess you really do grow into your “woman” body in your mid 20s because I had been in the same size jeans for ages and in the past, I would say 2 years, my legs, hips and of course the gut have gotten a bit larger. So I am overdue to hand down my too small jeans to someone that can wear them and go out to buy my some new jeans that fit!
2.Dallas Cowboys Jersey – Jason Witten to be exact! Since we are going to our first NFL game in September, I would really like to have a jersey to show my Cowboy pride at the game.
3.iPad – Now I know this is a really expensive item to put on my wishlist, and by no means do I expect to get one for my birthday, but I have really been wanting an iPad lately. I think I would get a lot of use out of it if I had one. Maybe one day the price will be a bit more reasonable, and I can purchase one for myself.
4.Ralph by Ralph Lauren perfume – This has been my “signature” scent for nearly the last 10 years. I have always worn Ralph by Ralph Lauren. Anyways, the bottle I have is starting to run low and it’s never too early to get another bottle for when I run out.
5.Cowgirl Boots – Now this is something that I really, really want to get soon before Fall is here, but I am just going to have to go into a store and try them on to find the right size/style for me. Unfortunately, I have ordered 2 different pairs of boots online in the past and have not been pleased with what I received. The first pair was way too big, and the second pair was a little too small, and didn’t look as cute in person as they did online. Now if I could sell the two pairs I have, I may have enough money to go purchase a pair that fits!
6.Michael Kors watch – This again, is really expensive gift that I in no way expect to get for my birthday, but would love to have one someday. I think this one is so pretty, which is strange because I am usually more of a silver/white gold girl.

I am sure there are many other things I could think of if I put my mind to it, but these are the few things that first come to mind when I think about items for my Birthday Wishlist.

Weekend Recap 8/4-8/7

Last Thursday we took our sweet old dog Oscar to the vet. He’s been having some problems for the last couple weeks, and we figured since he hadn’t gotten any better it was time for him to visit the doc. He was such a good boy the entire visit and even after being poked, squeezed and violated, he was just a happy boy as always. The vet visit cost a bit more than we expected because we got a bit of medication, and a few tests. We did have them check again for the heart worms since he tested positive about 2 years ago. We had tried the slow kill method, and even though we weren’t perfect with giving him his medicine, we did get the good news that he is heartworm FREE! This was some much needed positivity since the rest of the visit left us uncertain and worried. We were sent home with an antibiotic and an appointment to follow up in two weeks.

After we got off work that evening, we decided we were going to take both of the dogs with us out for a boat ride. Kayla, our younger female, has been out on the boat before so she was very comfortable and excited, jumping right on the boat. But for Oscar, this was his first ever boat ride. Jonathan had to pick him up and put him on the boat because he was just a little nervous about the whole thing. Once on the boat and we started moving they both relaxed and enjoyed the ride. It was so nice to have both of them with us. Especially since Oscar is getting so old, we wanted to have him with us. And since he was such a good boy during his vet visit, he deserved to get out for a little while.

Saturday was a Points Race at Richmond dragway. So of course we spent the day at the drag strip, in the miserable heat, only for the race to be cancelled close to 8 pm due to the rain. Luckily, they split the pot with all of the racers that were still in it. Jonathan’s truck is in need of some new tires, so he was lucky that one of his racing buddies was on vacation and let him borrow his truck for the day. Jonathan really has a great group of friends at the drag strip and they all look out for each other. Over the past 6 years, I have learned A LOT about drag racing. I have met several of his friends, and finally feel like people know me and recognize me. I wish there were more females there that were close to my age to hang out with during the race. I met this one girl a few weeks back that seemed really nice. I was bummed on Saturday when her husband said she wasn’t there. Hopefully she comes to the next one, because I need a friend so I don’t sit alone in the stands all the time!

Sunday morning, we had to take back the truck we borrowed. Then we met up with Jonathan’s mom at Cold Harbor Restaurant for breakfast. Jonathan’s sister, Ashley, works there on the weekends so we were able to chit chat with her a little bit. Once finished, we headed to the mall so I could return a bra that I purchased from Victoria’s Secret that was defective. Another let down, they weren’t able to order me a replacement because it was no longer for sale on the website.

We went home, and I decided to take a nap. Obviously I love my naps, usually taking one every weekend. Once I woke up, I did some laundry and cooked us flat bread pizzas for dinner. Jonathan was working on the boat, which he has put for sale on craigslist. I had just gotten used to the boat and kind of don’t want to sell it. But it isn’t the boat that we want, so if we can sell it, we can hopefully buy the type of boat that we do want. Around 7 my mom called and asked me to go with her to the dog park. She recently rescued a Miniature Pincher from the SPCA and wanted to see how he would do around other dogs. Well, it didn’t go very good. There was a nice guy that had an adorable female poodle that he said he would allow to meet with him to see how he did. Unfortunately, he was a bully to the sweet little girl and kept jumping up on top of her and just made me and mom nervous that he would hurt her. He was put back on his leash and we got ready to take him back home. Mom was disappointed that he did so poorly, but I explained to her that he may never have been socialized with other dogs in his previous home. She and Ed are going to try again together sometime to see if there is any improvement.

Once she dropped me off at home, I finished up a bit more laundry and watched a little bit of the Olympics before getting ready for bed. Now the work week is here again, and we have a fairly busy week ahead. Wednesday evening, we will be going to our first ever Bible study. The Officiant who married us has invited us and one other couple into his home to meet with his family and have Bible study. I am really excited because I have wanted us to get more involved in our faith for some time now. I am hoping it is a good fit for us, because I have heard it can be difficult to find a group that you mesh well with. But I am positive that it will be a great evening of fellowship and discussing scripture. Thursday after work, we have another meeting with our financial advisor to discuss a few different things. I am so glad we were referred to the advisor we have. He’s younger, intelligent and seems like he understands our immediate needs, as well as what we want to work towards in the future. Lastly, one night this week we will be meeting up with our old roommate, Jason, that we lived with when we first started dating. He knows we are both Dallas Cowboys fans, and he being a Redskin fan always provides for friendly rivalry. Well, he invited us to go with him to the game at the Redskins stadium on September 18th and we need to reimburse him for purchasing our tickets. I am SO EXCITED because it will be a first for Jonathan and I. Our first NFL game seeing our boys playing their biggest rival!! Can’t wait!
